Nightmares (Day 3, an Etheree Poem)

No Gravatar

An Etheree Poem follows a syllable pattern of 1-10 per line for a 10-Line poem.

Nightmares

Dreams

Return

Tidal waves

Swallowing me

Whole. No lifeguards out

Swimming in slow motion

Breathe one last breath before death

Screaming, gulping, emerge, crying

I awaken to a damp pillow

Wipe wet eyes and pray, “Stop COVID19.”

Right up Your Warm Blue Alley Cuz Kelly (Happy birthday, Kelly)

Curacao
Caramel Queen
basking in blueness
beauties unseen
Peace painted
on an aqua canvas
as she floats
in dancing colors.
Turks and Caicos
turquoise water
waves
rocking
her world
from under her back
drifting without gravity
while carnival songs
sing all night long
eyes upward
hope inward.
Tranquility tempts her
in Aruba
Crispy clean water
reveals clarity
unspoken
yet known from the presence
in shades of blue
Peace
Time
Inhale
Exhale
Nubian Beauty.
Happy birthday, Cousin Kelly!
